  • All guests are required to register, which is done automatically with the obligation to register (incl. telephone and e-mail address).
  • On arrival, a valid negative test result, a vaccination certificate or confirmation of a previous corona infection must be presented – please pay attention to the different validity periods.
    • Admission tests are valid in the form of antigen tests (48h) and PCR tests (72h).
    • Persons who have survived a corona disease are exempt from testing for six months after recovery – a medical, molecular biological (PCR) confirmation is required for this.
    • Proof of neutralising antibodies, which must not be older than 3 months, also counts as an exemption.
    • Vaccinated people can be exempted from the testing obligation – this applies to first vaccinations from the 22nd day after the first vaccination, whereby this must not be older than 3 months, or to second vaccinations, whereby these must not be older than 9 months.
    • Vaccination certificates of vaccines not approved by the EMA, e.g. Sputnik or Sinopharm, do not count as proof of admission.
    • QR codes are currently not accepted as proof, as we do not have a reader. This applies to the whole City of Vienna.
  • Children up to the age of 10 are exempt from the test obligation.
  • If the stay is longer than the validity of the access test, an antigen test must be carried out on site every 48 or 24 hours after the expiry of the validity. We will be happy to inform you about testing stations for PCR and antigen tests at the reception.
  • A maximum of 8 people (plus underage children) per table are permitted indoors without restriction to different households.
  • The use of our ‘Little’ SPA is limited with a capacity restriction of 4 persons.
  • The new entry requirementsare set to come into effect on June 10th. 
  • Further relaxations are planned for July 2021.

The most important questions about your stay – at Vienna’s most central

  • Is the Boutique Hotel am Stephansplatz open? – Yes, the accommodation of business travellers due to professional reasons that cannot be postponed or for educational and residential purposes is permitted, overnight stays for tourist purposes are possible again from May 19th 2021. Cafe Giacomo Aragall will be open from daily from 06:30  – 11:00 am.
  • I am travelling from abroad, what should I bear in mind? – Since January 1st 2021, persons entering Austria from abroad have to register online in advance (Pre-Travel Clearance). Information on this and the registration form can be found HERE
  • I cannot arrive, will my deposit be forfeited? – If entry from your country of origin is not possible for your travel date due to Corona regulations, the travel can be postponed to a new date. This also applies in the case of stricter quarantine regulations. The deposit that has already been paid will then be offset against your new travel date.
  • How long will my deposit be counted towards a rebooking? – We are currently offering rebooking to a new travel date until December 28th, 2021.
  • How can I rebook to a new travel date? – If you made your reservation directly at the hotel or via Booking.com, please contact the hotel by email at welcome@hotelamstephansplatz.at. If you booked with Expedia.com or an Expedia booking platform such as Hotels.com, please contact your booking provider.
  • Will the hotel incur any rebooking or processing fees? – no.

Which measures apply to events?

The following measures apply since June 10th, 2021 for events until expected until June 30th 2021 (subject to change):

  • If it is a business event or a business training course it is permitted. Events such as company Christmas parties are not permitted
  • A minimum distance of 1 metre and the wearing of an FFP2 mask during the entire event is mandatory, also at the seating area!

For events of 51 persons or more, a permit must be issued by the health authority. The permit must be obtained by the organiser.

  • Registration by form or QR code is mandatory for all participants prior to admission.
  • Gastronomic catering with food and beverages is only permitted in a seated position.
  • The official closing time is midnight.
  • Regular ventilation in the premises, e.g. during breaks, it is strongly recommended!
  • The management is responsible as a Covid-19 contact person.
